Brent Robertson currently serves as the County Administrator for Franklin County, Virginia. He previously served as the Director of Management and Budget for Roanoke County, Virginia for over 15 years where he was responsible for strategic planning and the development and implementation of the County’s annual operating and capital budget processes with revenues of $388 million. In addition, his office was accountable for budgetary policy development, economic analysis, revenue forecasting, and long-range planning in support of strategic direction.
Brent earned a B.S. degree in accounting and economics from Radford University, is a graduate of the MPA program of James Madison University, and earned a graduate certificate in Local Government Management from Virginia Tech's Center for Public Administration and Policy. He has been a member of GFOA and VGFOA since the early 1990's and taught Operating and Capital Budgeting for VGFOA's certification program for 10 years and currently sits on GFOA's Committee on Economic Development and Capital Planning. Brent is also a licensed CPA in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
